ESL Teachers Needed in Shanghai, China Shanghai BSK Academy and the Shanghai Branch of China Center for International Educational Exchange - under China Education Association for International Exchange and the Ministry of Education of China, are in need of qualified ESL teacher trainers and ESL teachers to teach English in public schools in Shanghai, China. 1) Fall semester: September 1st, 2010 to June 2011. 2) Spring Semester: Feb., 2011 to June 2011 As full-time ESL teacher teaches, a minimum of 26 periods of classes per week in select public schools in Shanghai (35 minutes for one period in primary schools and 45 minutes for one period in secondary schools). The students are between 7 and 15 years of age. No office hours are required. BSK provides teaching materials. Every teacher is guaranteed to have two days off every calendar week but may work on Saturdays. TEACHER QUALIFICATION AND REMUNERATION The minimum requirements for the teaching candidate are: 1. Native English-speaker without strong regional accent, 2. Bachelor’s degree 3. TESOL certificate 4. No criminal records, 5. In good health condition, 6. Outgoing and passionate for helping young students to learn, 7. Capable of quickly adapting to different cultural and social environment. The remuneration for the fulltime teacher is as follows: 1) Monthly salary of RMB11,000 (before tax) for a weekly teaching load of 26 periods of classes, An additional pay of RMB1,500 for teaching in Jin Shan District. 2) Reimbursement of two-way economy-class airfare between the teachers home country and Shanghai for one-year contract. 3) The costs for the teacher’s visa (one-entry), work permit and medical examination in Shanghai will be covered, 4) Foreign Expert Certificate which authorizes the teacher to be a qualified teacher in China, 5) Comprehensive Accident Insurance for the teacher under the age of 60, 6) Monthly commute allowance of RMB150, 7) Paid sick leave and paid statutory holidays in China, 8) Performance-based bonus at the end of every semester, 9) Completion bonus at the end of the contract, 10) Free Mandarin classes every week, 11) Free airport pickup, 12) Free temporary residence (up to one week) when the teacher arrives in Shanghai for the first time, 13) Parties and tourist trips in- and outside of Shanghai.
