Requirements: Hold a minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferred with majored in English or related majors, such as Linguistics, Writing or Literature from an English speaking university in one of these countries: US, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Be a citizen and educated in one of those seven countries (same as above), and those with TESOL, TEFL or CELTA (more than 100hrs of course work) certificate. We also highly recognize Education degree, teaching certificate, Master degree and higher education, any fulltime teaching experience at any accredited institution as well. * Higher qualifications would be applicable for EPIK-Seoul applicants School Type: Elementary ( Gr.1-6), Middle (Gr.7-9), and High Public Schools (Gr. 10-12) Job Type: full-time, 1 year with renewable contract Working Hours: -8 hours per day, Monday to Friday (no work on weekends or national holidays) -22 hours of class instruction out of 40 hours work per week, over-time pay if teach more than 22 hours per week Salary Range: -1,800,000 ~ 3,000,000 KRW/month depending on the placement and the qualification. (Usually from 1.8 to 2.3 mil KRW unless has a few years of full-time teaching experience) -20,000 KRW/hour of overtime bonus pay for each extra hour of class instruction. Benefit Package: -Free fully furnished apartment which is either near to school, or downtown area if the school location is a suburb. -Round-trip Airfare or 1.3 mil KRW (equal to US$1,100 as of Aug 2010 exchange rate) -Settlement allowance of 300,000 won. -Severance, receiving 1 extra month’s salary as a bonus upon successful completion of contract. -Paid vacation for 18~20 working days (plus 5 more days for rural area position) -50% of medical insurance (roughly 2.5% of salary). -No Income Tax for the first two years (except for Canadians).
