Changchun American International School (CAIS) invites professional teaching applicants for its prospective instructor pool. The school is looking for some specific positions for the 2010-2011 school year, but it also wishes to hear from all potentially interested and qualified applicants.
CAIS is an International Baccalaureate (IBO) World School, authorized to offer the Diploma Programme (DP). CAIS is also a Candidate School for the IBOs Middle Years Program (MYP). The school is located in Changchun, Jilin Province in North East China. It is the only international school recognized by both Jilin Province and the Central Government as an international school, and it is the only IBO school in North East China.
Changchun is a rapidly growing city, fueled largely by a strong automobile manufacturing industry. It is about 1.5 hours by air from Beijing, Seoul, Vladivostok and Dalien.
Established in 2006, the school is situated in a new, state-of-the-art facility with capacity to grow to 300 students.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates with a regionally or nationally recognized BA/BS with at least 2 years of international school experience teaching subject content to students with multiple levels of language ability. Strong preference is for instructors currently in Asia, or North East Asia, or with in-Asia living experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with IBO training/experience and/or certification and/or a masters degree or above are strongly preferred. Native-like English from major education export countries is also strongly preferred.
CVs/resumes are invited for all areas and all grades, from Pre-K to 12 from individuals with strengths in Montessori methodology (lower grades), and ESL/ESOL, Science, Math, Humanities, Technology, Arts (including Graphic and Music: string ensemble, handbells) and Language (including English, Mandarin, German, Russian and Korean).
