Sunchang Jeil High School
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative English Communications teacher for our high school students. To be considered you must have a teaching certificate or a TESOL/ESL/EFL certificate (no online accredited certifications accepted) with at least a year of teaching experience.

Requirements:
-Teacher/ESL/TESOL/EFL Certificate
-Creative and energetic teacher
-Can easily adjust to different cultures
-Teaching experience (at least 1 year)
-Preference will be given to teachers who have experience learning another language
Working Contract:
-20-24 hours a week
-8 hours a day
-Must work summer and winter vacation (22 hours a week but typically less)
-Your work hours will be adjusted around your vacation days so don’t worry.
-English Club activities 1st and 3rd Saturday (extra pay - 240,000 won per month)
-You will work at 2 schools with most of your time at the Sunchang Jeil High School (public high school). But also at In Jae Suk - a government private school for exceptionally bright students in the county (4 hours a week).
About Sunchang:
Sunchang is located in Jeollabuk-Do. It is a small village (in Korean standards) with about 35,000 people. Sunchang is only a 55 minute bus ride to Gwangju, one of Korea’s top 5 major cities. If you like the country smell and hiking you’ll love it here as there is very little city noise, with fresh air, and lots of mountains to hike. The first county park of Korea is located here. Sunchang is also known, from TIME magazine, as being one of the locations where people have longest longevity. There are also several other foreigners here from the USA, Canada, and South Africa. Sunchang is a very safe village that you can feel safe in even while walking around at night.
About Sunchang Jeil High School:
Sunchang Jeil (first) High School has been around since after WWII. The high school has 328 students (10th, 11th, and 12th grade). There are 45 teachers and administrators with 4 Korean English teachers who speak fluent English. With about 5 other teachers and administrators who speak English as well. A typical class contains about 6 to 25 students with about 2 to 4 classes a day. A new dormitory will be finished soon for the students with a private fitness gym for teachers and students. You will have your own desk and computer with typical stationary supplies. All classrooms come with a big screen TV and computer with internet access.
