For our private elementary/secondary school, starting September 2010: 1. A literature guru for AP English Lit, AP English Language, and secondary English language arts 2. A geography teacher for grades 5 to 9 geography and social studies 3. An experienced English or ESL teacher for highly-differentiated, small-class situations, variously teaching grades 4 to 11 depending on experience and preference 4. Any of the above combined with the ability to deliver AP Psychology would be greatly advantageous. The ’Hobby’ School, formed in 1994, is Mongolia’s oldest private school. Our students pursue the national curriculum (in the Mongolian language) in addition to a flexible, in-house curriculum based on Western standards and learning outcomes (in English). In the 2010/11 academic year, we will become the first school in Mongolia to offer AP courses. Ulaanbaatar is an exciting, growing city with a low cost of living. Success in Mongolia requires a sense of adventure, a flexible nature, and a tolerance of new cultures. Applicants should (a) possess a 4-year undergraduate degree, (b) have some combination of school educational training and experience, and (c) be prepared to commit for a full academic year in a foreign country.
