The American Institute of Monterrey is a group of private bilingual, bicultural and co-
educational
schools located in the state of Nuevo León in Mexico. The Valle Oriente Campus offers
educational
services from Pre-Nursery through grade 9, the San Pedro Campus from Pre-Nursery to

(projected to grow to grade 9), and AIM Preparatory School, offering middle school and

ABOUT THE POSITION
The high school at AIM is our school’s newest venture. Positioned to “revolutionize
education”, it
seeks to transform our educational services through student-developed authentic
products and
services aligned to its four academies: technology and engineering, arts and humanities,
business
and management and laboratory and investigation. As High School Coordinator, you will
have an
instrumental role in developing a new educational culture which will attract students from
within and
outside of the AIM system, supporting our vision to convert APS into a worldwide beacon
of
transformative education in the 21st century. Your responsibilities include leading all
programs,
activities and communications within the AIM Preparatory School environment as well as
to attract
students from feeder schools, including coordination of students’ schedules and
academic classes,
activities and events, personal needs, and interdisciplinary management in a
professional
environment that challenges each student to reach his/her fullest potential, achieving
admission to
the best colleges and universities worldwide, while providing a nurturing, supportive
environment
that will allow students to “make their mark” in their community while still in high school.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE…
• Establish, oversee & manage an ambitious “students as entrepreneurs” program,
which
includes the development of authentic products and services, linking students will outside
professionals in order to achieve their vision for improving their world, based on the
academy of
their choice.
• Working with the Curriculum Director on school-programming and curriculum
development for
9th through 12th grade students
• Developing a strong “student-voice, student choice” culture, in which students,
through
responsibility, respect and safety, strengthen and improve the APS educational
environment for all
students.
• Prepare our students for success in college preparation programming
• Provide academic support, ensuring their academic resume and authentic product
portfolio will
stand out in the college application process
• Support our students and families through the college application and decision
process
• Support Human Resources in the recruitment, selection, supervision and on-going
training of
high school teaching staff
• Plan and chaperone student outings, including study abroad programs, college
campus visits,
community service projects and field trips.
• Manage campus wide data collection and evaluation systems
• Teach high school courses whenever is required (first couple of years)
• Work closely with the Admissions Department in the organization of APS
promotional days for
students from feeder schools, in order to grow the student population in the high school.

• Has a Master’s degree in education
• Is certified to teach Advance Placement courses

• Can Communicate Effectively
• Is Flexible
• Fluent in Spanish and familiar with the Mexican Culture is a huge plus but not a
requirement

Ⅲ. Job Description
1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.

Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;

4. Understand and adhere to the curriculum, policies and procedures of the school.
5. Demonstrate professionalism: in dress, in manner and staff relationships in the school environment.
6. Follow the guidance, direction and leadership of the head of curriculum as required.
7. Prepare lesson plans according to the school requirements, have flexible and diverse teaching methods, and can efficiently complete the teaching tasks.
