Details: Job Purpose
To carry out professional duties and to have responsibility for an assigned class. To be responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the classes and the safety and welfare of the pupils. To promote the aims and objectives of Metropolitan School and support its mission and vision.
Key Accountabilities
To create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to student’s learning.
To plan and prepare lessons in order to deliver Metropolitan School’s curriculum, which includes textbooks and materials selected by Metropolitan School for delivering the curriculum.
To identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenges and high expectations.
To maintain good order and discipline among the students, safeguarding their health and safety.
To maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record-keeping and reporting of student’s progress.
To participate in staff meetings as required.
To ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice.
To support Metropolitan School administration in promoting the ethos of the school.
To promote the welfare of all students and support the school in providing educational programs and services for all students.
To communicate and consult with parents regarding all aspects of their children’s education – academic, social and emotional.
To meet with parents to contribute positively to the education of their student’s concerned.
To promote equality as an integral part of the role and to treat everyone with fairness and dignity.
To incorporate the use of media and technology.
All candidates should have a minimum of a -year college degree in their teaching field
Candidates not holding teacher certification, but with teaching experience relevant to a teaching assignment will be given consideration. Preference given to candidates with teacher certification.
