We run two summer schools:
Exsportise Summer School: for students aged 9 – 17 year olds who want to combine learning English through structured English lessons as well as through their passion of Sport, Music and Dance.
2 types of teachers:
Band 1 teachers split their time between EFL department and social programme (max. teaching contact time of 10 hours per week and up to 2 hours prep and admin time per day). Excursions and/or airport duties on the weekend
Band 2 teachers have a maximum teaching contact time of 25 hours per week, up to 3 hours of prep and admin time per day. No evening social programme but one excursion or airport duty per weekend.
British Summer School: 6 academically challenging, innovative and inspiring courses for 6-20 year old students designed to improve their English level and their ability and confidence to communicate and operate in the 21st century.
2 types of teachers:
EFL teachers: maximum teaching contact time of 25 hours per week, up to 3 hours of prep and admin time per day. No evening social programme but one excursion or airport duty per weekend.
Subject Teachers: a combination of EFL (Core English) and specialist subject lessons (such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or Humanities). Maximum teaching contact time of up to 25 hours per week, including up to 3 hours of prep and admin time per day. No evening social programme but one excursion or airport duty per weekend.
Required Qualifications:
- Native / near-native competence in English (written and spoken) is mandatory
- University degree or equivalent (for Subject teachers: University degree in one of the STEM subject such as Sociology, Philosophy or Psychology, Business or the Humanities)
- CELTA, Trinity TESOL or Accreditation UK recognised equivalent or PGCE (in English or MFL)
- DELTA, CELTAYL, QTS (primary or secondary) are particularly welcomed
- Minimum of 1 year teaching experience
- Previous residential summer school experience and experience of teaching mixed nationality groups is preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the UK. We cannot support any visa applications.
