An English language institute in Liaoning province currently has a vacancy for an English as a foreign language teacher. The institute has been operating since 2009 under foreign management.
Preschoolers (3-5 year olds) and elementary schoolers (5-12 year olds) are the main cohorts of pupils attending the institute. The institute has its own English as a foreign language programme consisting of detailed syllabi, books, lesson plans and classroom materials for both cohorts of pupils. The preschool programme is mostly focused on speaking and listening skills and the development of vocabulary while the elementary programme entails the teaching of listening, speaking, reading, writing and basic grammar.
About Liaoning Province
Liaoning is a province in Northeast China. It has a population of about 43 million people. Liaoning borders the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea in the south, North Korea in the southeast, Jilin Province to the northeast, Hebei Province to the west, and Inner Mongolia to the northwest. Liao” is an ancient name for this region, which was adopted by the Liao Dynasty which ruled this area between 907 and 1125. ”Ning” means ”peacefulness”
The high-speed train journey to Beijing is only about 5 hours. The cost of living is also quite low in Liaoning with many foreign teachers saving up to 80% of salary. The average monthly salary of local Chinese citizens is between 2,000 and 3,000 RMB.
Job Responsibilities
• The teacher would have to prepare and deliver EFL lessons to preschoolers and elementary pupils.
• The teacher would have to participate in training, become familiar with the curriculum and be receptive to feedback.
• The teacher should conduct him or herself in a professional manner.
Remuneration and Benefits
30 instructional hours per week
