B. YOUR ACCOUNTABILITY
1. Planning and Teaching
- Plan and teach well-structured and engaging lessons in accordance with the relevant pacing guide that corresponds to school standards, delivery 30 to 33 periods teaching periods and up to 3 extra-activity periods per week (each period equivalent to 40 minutes in length), following the timetable and teaching plan;
- Adapt and tailor teaching to meet the needs of individual students, creating a student-centered environment so that all are appropriately supported and challenged;
- To liaise with other teachers (International Program and National Program) to ensure learning support needs are addressed and support high quality learning;
- Conduct tutorials for underachieving students;
- Cover lessons for absent teachers when needed.
2. Assessment
- Provide students with high quality and timely feedback that enables them to know where they are and what they need to do to improve;
- Design a wide range of formative and summative assessment tools to evaluate student learning including, but not limited to, worksheets, homework, tests;
- Provide assessment and achievement information/data as required for tracking and reporting purposes;
3. Parent Engagement and Student Wellbeing
- Work closely with the local teachers to communicate with parents on academic or social matters, including follow up on reports, parents’ meetings etc.;
- Maintain a purposeful and safe learning environment for all students;
- Promote the general progress and wellbeing of individual students and of UTS community;
4. Curriculum Revision
- Give feedback on the school curriculum when necessary;
- Assist in the development and revision of the school’s syllabi and materials if needed.
5. Extracurricular Activities and Professional Development
- Offer exciting extracurricular activities and clubs that support the holistic development of students; Be involved in the organization and delivery of events, festivals, assemblies, etc;
- Embrace all opportunities to develop knowledge and understanding through internal and external PD or sharing workshops/events/campaigns;
- Comply and contribute to the UTS quality improvement plan: mentor observation, peer observation, self-reflection, etc.
- Proactively participate in sharing sessions/workshops to contribute to the progress of the whole IP team.

C. JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Qualifications
- Education/ pedagogy university degree in a relevant field
- Professional teaching qualification/license/certification as applicable
- Preference will be given to those holding a master degree
2. Experiences & skills
- At least two years teaching experience in an international /bilingual school
- Good working knowledge of the English and/or American National Curriculum
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children through classroom organization, differentiation and learning strategies

Band 1 teachers split their time between EFL department and social programme (max. teaching contact time of 10 hours per week and up to 2 hours prep and admin time per day). Excursions and/or airport duties on the weekend
Band 2 teachers have a maximum teaching contact time of 25 hours per week, up to 3 hours of prep and admin time per day. No evening social programme but one excursion or airport duty per weekend.
British Summer School: 6 academically challenging, innovative and inspiring courses for 6-20 year old students designed to improve their English level and their ability and confidence to communicate and operate in the 21st century.
2 types of teachers:

Subject Teachers: a combination of EFL (Core English) and specialist subject lessons (such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or Humanities). Required Qualifications:
- Native / near-native competence in English (written and spoken) is mandatory
- University degree or equivalent (for Subject teachers: University degree in one of the STEM subject such as Sociology, Philosophy or Psychology, Business or the Humanities)
- CELTA, Trinity TESOL or Accreditation UK recognised equivalent or PGCE (in English or MFL)
- DELTA, CELTAYL, QTS (primary or secondary) are particularly welcomed
- Minimum of 1 year teaching experience
- Previous residential summer school experience and experience of teaching mixed nationality groups is preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the UK. We cannot support any visa applications.

Details: We run residential sports, music and language camps for children aged 8 to 17 and teach our students to combine fun with teamwork and creativity in a professional coaching environment.
This and a full and varied entertainment/excursion programme gives them the best possible holiday experience.
All roles are residential and in addition to their main duties, everybody takes part in:
-Ensuring the well-being and happiness of students, particularly those with specific issues, e.g. homesickness.
-Airport transfers, excursions and/or student check-ins during weekends.
-Supervising students during meals and ‘down time’ activities, e.g. swimming
-Bedtime duty, which includes being responsible for the bed and fire registers and waking up students on time.
Staff are given their own room in one of the boarding houses, all meals and access to the camps’ sports facilities during their free time. All staff work a 6 day week and contract lengths range from 2 to 7 weeks. Camps run during July and August, with a 2-day staff induction programme prior to the first student arrivals.
