Required Degrees: Bachelor’s Degree Fields of Expertise: Elementary , Secondary Details: Two English Teachers (preferably a couple) Full time job from Monday to Saturday 8 a.m.-16 p.m. 20-25 periods per week (each 40 minutes) One month annual leave. The centres are offering a volunteer type position and resources include internet access but are predominantly white board/pen and paper based teaching. Ideally the centres seek teachers who can teach all age groups but in this case they can accept one teacher who can cover playgroup/primary and another who can teach youth/adult. Teaching is at a basic and intermediate level. Experience not always required. Accommodation is provided and normally consists of shared living and cooking space and own bedroom There is a food allowance of 10,000 Rupees per month Internal travel is provided by the centre or the cost paid to you/tickets provided A stipend of 20,000 (approx. £100) Sri Lankan Rupee’s is paid to you monthly in addition to accommodation and food allowances A commitment of 3 months minimum is requested (6 months or more is preferred) The Sri Lankan centre ask that you pay for your flight and insurance but they will provide and cover the cost of a full and proper Visa allowing you to provide teaching services.
Fields of Expertise: ESL/EFL , Details: We are Aspirations International Academy a higher education institute based in Colombo Sri Lanka (.aia.lk). We run a variety of programmes including Chartered Institute of Marketing programmes, University of London Degree programmes. In addition to these higher education programmes, we operate a language training arm where we primarily cater to four main categories - English for Kids, General Conversational English, IELTS, Business English programmes for corporate clients. We have operated this language training arm since December 2011 and we have catered to over 200 students who came for lessons at our study centre and over 300 participants who are employees of our corporate clients. The two facilitators (South Africans)are completing their contract in the mid of December and therefore we are in need of recruiting a replacement trainer. We are looking for a teacher who have completed their TEFL studies and has one year or more experience in teaching. Having a Bachelors degree in any discipline is not a must but an added advantage. Working hours is 40 hours per week. The duration of the contract is one year extendable upon the mutual agreement. Pay ranges from USD 800 to USD 1100 per month. Accommodation is provided free of charge in an apartment which is 10 minute walk from the study centre.

The school is based in Matara which is on the South coast of Sri Lanka. It large working city that currently does not have English Schools that employ native English speakers. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the creation of the school and will be attractive to professionally minded individuals who are prepared to work with a high degree of flexibility. English courses are being offered to students from 6 years of age to senior citizen age along with Business English to local businesses. The school expects to start with 5 classrooms with maximum groups being 12 students.
