Details: The British School of Lome is an IB and IGCSE plus UK national curriculum school. It is international in nature with teachers coming from 12 different countries and students from 33 countries. After Togolese nationals, students from the United States are the largest group of day students at the school. Nigerians comprise the majority of the 70 boarding students. Currently the school has 260 students and is projected to increase its size over the next few years due to economic expansion underway in Lome. A new deep water container port is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013. The job opening is for an immediate hire although the position is covered until January 2013 by a qualified substitute teacher. The school has graduating classes of approximately 20 students and all are IB candidates. Over the past 10 years only a few students have not received the full IB diploma and all go on to recognized universities in the English speaking world (mostly the United States and the UK). Details: The British School of Lomé is activley seeking an IB Co-ordinator to run the IB centre at the school. The applicant must be experienced. There are presently 30 students in the IB centre but it is targetted to rise in the coming year.
