SUMMARY

Course Description: Our course is structured so that we keep the student to teacher ratio at no more than 15:1. Each class will focus on content and test-taking strategies needed to excel on the exam to answer the multiple choice and open ended questions. The course will cover all topics included in both the English and Math section. Such areas of focus will be Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Writing Concepts & Skills, Writing Mechanics, Vocabulary, Mathematics and Quantitative Reasoning. The course will also reflect the changes in the CTP 5 exam from last year, as there is a greater focus on critical thinking skills. Position Summary: The classroom teacher creates a positive learning environment to
facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to
respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the classroom instructor must
work closely with other staff, the administration, and other programs. Essential job

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree and completed a state-approved teacher education program from
an accredited college or university;
• Current licensure to teach in North Carolina with current certification in the

• Two year’s experience;
• Special Education certification a plus.
Essential Qualifications:
• Per North Carolina state regulations, must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be able to communicate effectively (language skills).
• Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts (mathematical skills).
• Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
