Banana Kids, an established English as a Foreign Language (EFL) school seeks motivated, energetic, native English speaker to teach children. Our school has been operating for over 22 years and is located in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture. Utsunomiya is about 100 km north of Tokyo.
Banana Kids English lesson:
1. We strive to make a comfortable atmosphere for Japanese children to become comfortable with English and their foreign teachers. Lessons generally take place at local kindergartens.
2. Foreign teachers work together with Japanese teachers to provide a conversational English lesson. Dealing with young children it is required that teachers be energetic and enthusiastic.
We provide:
Salary: 240,000 yen
Contract completion bonus: 100,000 yen
Renewed contract for another year bonus:120,000 yen
Teaching hours:
Maximum 25 hours per week
Working hours:
40 hours per week including teaching hours
Overtime pay:
2,000 yen per hour
Holidays
Teachers follow the original Banana Kids schedule. Basically, Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays are off (we have about five working days per year that occur on weekends). Paid spring vacation (about 1 week), paid summer vacation (about 3 weeks), paid Christmas vacation (about 2 weeks).

We are currently seeking a part time instructor for 6 hours on a Saturday.
The successful applicant will be required to:
plan, prepare, and conduct kids and adults lessons using multimedia materials (42 teaching weeks per year);

attend events outside of the normal working week on occasion;

City Description:
Nakatsu City is a mid-sized castle town in northern Kyushu. It is the 3rd largest city in
Oita Prefecture. It is big enough to be convenient but small enough to retain its charm. It
is home to many shrines, temples, teahouses and the yearly Gion festival that is a major
attraction of the area. Nakatsu is also home to some very nice hiking trails, cycling paths
and numerous hot springs. It is also very easy to get away for the weekend to a larger
city like Kokura, Hakata or the resort town of Beppu, which are only a short distance by
train.

In 1984 Keio Academy was founded in Northern Kyushu with the goal of establishing an
elite school to enrich and enlighten its students in all areas of education. There are now
three Keio Academy schools in Japan and 1 in Taiwan. We also send teachers to a

Requirements and Qualifications:
-A native English speaker. English must be your FIRST and primary language
-Bachelor’s degree from a college or university
-Have the desire to live and work in Japan and for a Japanese company

-For the first position, the applicant will need to be able to sing, dance and make fun

Pay and benefits:
-Starting salary of between 220,000-250,000yen a month based on experience and skill.
-5 weeks of paid vacation (25 days plus the connected weekends) spread out throughout
the year, 20 days that are pre-set around holidays and 5 days that can be requested at
various times during the school year.

-Free access to a company car for required work travel.
-Employees may also use a company car for personal use at a nominal fee
