Details: Do you have a desire to travel and teach beyond the four walls of your classroom? Could you see yourself teaching Ontario High School curriculum in a foreign country? This position is for someone who is ready for the challenge and rewards of experiential education.
We are looking for enthusiastic teachers who will teach Ontario curriculum to high school students in Europe and Costa Rica during the month of July 2011. You will be responsible for creating stimulating curriculum for students based on the sites laid out in the program itinerary. Your position will encompass more than the delivery of the course, our trips are moving classrooms and our students require supervision while visiting relevant historical sites and at our centrally located accommodations.
We want someone who understands the benefits of experiential learning and how to utilize destinations in their course curriculum. Ideally you will have traveled with students before and/or visited the destinations where our programs run.
Courses we require teachers for: ****NOTE: if you are not qualified to teach one of these SPECIFIC courses you will not be considered a candidate for this position****
- English (grade 11 and 12)
Requirements/Responsibilities
- OCT qualified
- Ability to develop and deliver course curriculum for your course on the program you are selected to teach on
- Teach classes (as per itinerary) and provide extra help to students
- Completion of report cards with comments in a timely manner
- Ability to utilize and centre curriculum on the cities and sites in the program itinerary in conjunction with our staff.
- Ability to teach students with learning challenges (IEP, etc.)
- attend an orientation meeting in Toronto prior to trips departure (late April/early May)
- Chaperone and supervise students on excursions
- Curfew checks
- Liase with our staff throughout program
- Trip progress reports
- Mid term report cards

Ⅲ. Job Description
1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance
2. Paid winter and summer vacations
3. Contract-end bonus
4. Annual performance bonus (if applicable)
5. Reimbursement for annual round trip flights
