Details: CISS Quest Summer Camp in Squamish, BC is looking for ESL Teachers for an international student camp. Based at Quest University, CISS campers aged 10-17 come from all over the world to enjoy a British Columbia summer camp and to improve their written and spoken English.
Camp ESL Teachers are responsible for:
1) Education Curriculum:
As a certified educator, you will serve as the facilitator and classroom teacher for the CISS campers. You are responsible for curriculum creation & implementation and required to get approval from Assistant Director prior to teaching. Weekly classroom hours will be no less than 15 in addition to assisting with weekly placement testing for arriving students.
2) Camp Excursion Supervision:
ESL teacher may be required to carry out camp supervision during educational excursions and at times when campers are not at Quest University.
3) Afternoon & Evening Program Activity Participation:
ESL teachers will be required to directly facilitate camp programs outside of the classroom. This may include, but is not limited to: leading sports or arts activities, creating an evening event or providing engaging programming at any time when deemed appropriate or necessary.
Requirements:
Valid Canadian Teaching Degree & Certificate OR Valid ESL certificate (CELTA, TESL, etc)
Experience with children/teens both in and out of the classroom
Ability to both follow specific curriculum and enhance/create own curriculum
Ability to speak clearly in native-sounding English
Assets (result in pay increase!):
Fluency in another language (particularly Japanese)
Ability to play/teach basic guitar
Valid Unrestricted Driver’s License
Valid Lifeguard or First Aid certification

Compensation:
$2,250/term + $250.00completion bonus & wage increase for possessing assets.

Ⅲ. Job Description
1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance
2. Paid winter and summer vacations
