POSITION: SUMMER COMMUNITY SERVICE TRIP LEADER
LOCATION: North/Central/South America, Caribbean, Ghana, Cambodia
TYPE OF POSITION: Seasonal
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: VISIONS summer community service programs for teens and middle school students blend ambitious community service work, cultural immersion, travel and adventure. Programs operate in under-resourced communities in Alaska and Montana indigenous villages, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Dominican Republic, British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Peru, Nicaragua, Ecuador/Galapagos Islands, Cambodia, and Ghana.
Co-ed groups of 16 - 25 youth and 4 - 6 staff live and work together in the heart of a host community. We also run two programs exclusively for travel and service-minded middle school students.
If you join VISIONS, you are committing to a work attitude that is fundamentally cooperative, positive, safety-conscious, and community spirited. Your role as a member of the staff team is to supervise and mentor teens and help supervise work project sites, recreational activities, cross-cultural experiences and daily living in a safe, challenging program environment. You will work hard, and the work at hand is focused on the participants’ experience above all else.
QUALIFICATIONS: At least 23 years old, experience leading and/or teaching teenagers, a demonstrated interest in cross-cultural living and learning. A team player mindset is a requisite. Minimum Standard First Aid and CPR. WFA or WEMT required at some sites. Safety certifications, carpentry skills, and experience living in different cultures are pluses in hiring process, though not required. French fluency is required for Guadeloupe, Spanish fluency required for Dominican Republic, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua. Background check (~ $35), paid for by applicant, will be required of all trip leaders immediately upon job offer.
SALARY BENEFITS: Salary commensurate with similar employment opportunities and experience. Room, board, roundtrip travel to/from program sites provided. Transportation to staff training in Bozeman, Montana is at applicant’s expense.
EMPLOYMENT DATES: Employment begins mid-June and varies in length from 6-10 weeks.

1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance
2. Paid winter and summer vacations
