Ⅲ. Job Description
1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance
2. Paid winter and summer vacations

Details: The British School of Alexandria (BSA), was established in 1984 in the grounds of the British Consulate. Over the past 28 years it has expanded onto two further sites, currently educates around 300 students aged 3 to 18 from more than 20 different countries and is continuing to grow. The School aims to offer the highest quality of British-style education to the local and expatriate communities.
BSA is a member of BSME and an Associate Member of COBIS.
It’s an exciting time to be living in Egypt. While the international media might have the world thinking otherwise, here in Alexandria staff feel safe and secure and are able to go about their daily business as usual. The general populace is welcoming and genuinely interested in foreigners who choose to live and work in Alexandria. Though our Young Arab Voices project, which seeks to facilitate debate and discussion about the role of democracy and citizenship throughout the Middle East, we are actively involved in articulating the aspirations of a generation. As testament to this, most staff are choosing to take another contract in 2012/13.
Teacher of Biology
The Department : This is a department of three specialist science teachers and one full time technician. We have two specialist laboratories, one classroom, an office and a preparation room. All rooms have PCs and video projectors and whiteboards. The department is equipped for most common practical work, and is in the process of updating and expanding our facilities and capabilities.
The Students : The student body is largely drawn from the Egyptian population of Alexandria, with a substantial minority of expatriate British, US and other nationalities. All the students are fluent English speakers with a strong motivation to access an English language University education. Examination results achieved by past students have been consistently good.
The Curriculum : The department caters to students from Years 7 to 13. All KS3 students follow a British-style curriculum based on the Collins scheme. KS4 students study for Cambridge IGCSE qualifications (Biology 0610) and AS/A2 students also follow a Cambridge syllabus (9700).
Applicants must have a British educational background and English mother tongue, hold an appropriate Degree plus a recognised teaching qualification, and have 2 years experience in the UK as a full time teacher
