Details: British School of Campobasso seeks 1 DOS and 3 teachers for new academic year
(2013-2014)
The Teaching
The British School Campobasso has around 130 students of all ages from 3 years old
through to adults.
Courses are run in general English as well as exam preparation and ESP in both
group and one-to-one classes. Courses run from October to June at which time all
students take AIBSE tests and some take Cambridge University exams. Classes may
have up to 12 students per group. Some courses are provided in state schools.
The maximum number of teaching hours per week is 28 (average 25) and teachers
usually start at 9am and finish at 9:30pm. Teachers are expected to work Monday to
Friday.
The schools have plenty of teaching resources and are well-equipped with audio,
visual and computer facilities, and hold monthly meetings to look at report cards and
discuss students’ progress. Teacher development and support is also a part of the
meetings.
The main texts used are New English File, Excellent, Objective KET etc.,
Masterclass First Certificate (FCE), Masterclass Advanced (CAE) and Masterclass
Proficiency (CPE).
Location
Campobasso is a small, quiet, crime-free city. It has plenty of pubs and restaurants
and a couple of small nightclubs. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and there
are places to visit nearby, local villages, archaeological sites and nature reserves.
There is a resort 45 minutes away and the sea is one hour away. Rome and Naples
are also close enough for a day trip. There are many facilities to take advantage of
including a swimming pool and nearby gym. There are two commercial centres and
several shops. The population is approximately 80,000 people. The atmosphere is
warm and friendly.
