Details: For the academic Year commencing 2014/2015, New Cairo British International School (NCBIS)
is looking to recruit an outstanding full-time Head of Learning Support, Secondary (SENCO)
NCBIS is the leading British international school in Egypt and is an authorised IB World School
with more than 60 nationalities represented among 720 students. It is renowned for the
excellence of its educational programmes.
The secondary school students follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales at Key
Stage 3 and then take the IGCSE/GCSE examinations in Year 11 and the IB Diploma in Year
13. The school is fully accredited by CIS and in November 2012 had a very successful ISI
inspection. We are executive members of COBIS.
We are located in New Cairo, a quiet and tranquil part of Cairo. The small class sizes contribute

• Have a passion for learning, with experience of current best practice in SEN policy and
provision and effective intervention strategies
• Have proven experience of identification, curricular planning and monitoring progress of
students with additional needs
• Have experience of leading a department and developing and sustaining constructive
working relationships with parents and external support agencies
• Hold a National SENCO Award or other relevant professional development qualifications
• Be committed and hard working, with high expectations of themselves and the children in
their care
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of collegiality.
• Be able to incorporate ICT in their practice
• Possess humour, energy, flexibility and a positive outlook
In addition to working in a learning-focused, forward-thinking and supportive not for profit school,

1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance
