You must have TEFL-Q status (minimum DELTA/DipTESOL or equivalent), hold a first degree and be keen to further your career by becoming involved in academic management and teacher training. Experience within a summer school environment is essential; experience of managing a large team would be advantageous. You must also have a native-speaker level of English.
Duties will include:
You will be directly responsible both to the Centre Manager for the smooth educational management of your centre, and to Experience English’s Academic Manager for the quality of educational delivery.

• Teacher induction and day-to-day teacher support
• Leading regular teachers’ meetings

• Covering for the Centre Manager as required
• Overall responsibility for delivering the teaching syllabus
Residential Staff and Accommodation
As one of the Senior Members of staff, you share the overall responsibility for the pastoral care of our students on site. Consequently, Experience English will provide your accommodation and full board free of charge.
In order to ensure continued overall supervision, whilst ensuring appropriate rest for Senior Staff, the Centre Manager will timetable your pastoral duties and those of the Activity Manager to ensure that one senior member of staff is officially on duty each night in addition to 2 non-senior staff members (i.e.: Teachers and Activity Leaders).
Pastoral Duties will vary from centre to centre, but will generally include, for example:
• Helping group leaders to settle students
• Dealing with any problems or emergency situations
• Dealing with any accommodation problems
• Helping to ensure that students are in their accommodation and not elsewhere on the campus unauthorised.
Please apply by sending a covering letter stating why you feel you would be suitable for this role, along with a current CV. Only applicants shortlisted for interview will be contacted.
Please note that Experience English is committed to providing an environment in which students and staff members can thrive and progress without fear of bullying, misconduct or discrimination of any kind. The well-being of students and staff members is our priority.
References will be followed up and requests will ask specifically whether there is any reason that the applicant should not be employed in situations where they have responsibility for, or substantial access to, persons under 18. All gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily and proof of identity and qualifications will be required.
