Details: Boundary Oak School is an IAPS co-educational day and boarding school set in 23 acres of beautiful Hampshire countryside outside Fareham, very close to Portsmouth and Southampton. It provides a friendly, family environment in a place rich in history, character and charm.
The school has recently embarked on an exciting new international strategy to cope with the increased demand of international pupils for a UK boarding school education. We require an experienced EFL teacher to become our Head of EAL and lead the development of a parallel curriculum and academic programme that meets the needs of our international pupils. The successful candidate will also be an integral part of the recruitment process for international students and form part of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
Main purpose of the job:
• Implement a diagnostic, formative and summative assessment programme for EAL pupils that enables an individual educational plan to be written for each pupil on arrival and allows for monitoring of the pupil’s progress during his tenure at the school.
• Design an EAL curriculum that delivers a high quality EAL academic programme and supports other subjects across the curriculum.
• Prepare pupils for the appropriate TESOL examination.
• Manage all aspects of teacher and senior staff recruitment management to ensure compliance with the law, accreditation requirements and current best practise.
• Conducting training sessions for teaching staff.
• Monitoring and controlling the quality of the teaching programme. E.g. checking teacher’s lesson plans and schemes of work; conducting formal and drop-in observations.
• Maintaining accurate records for academic and staff management, using Boundary Oak database packages where applicable.
• Planning the academic timetable.
• Supporting teachers.
• Running activity leaders training sessions.
• Ensuring that the academic programme is managed in accordance with the standards dictated by the ISI. Co-operate fully with ISI/Ofsted inspection teams if necessary.
• When required to participate in Educational fairs/conferences and build agent relationships to promote the school.

1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance
