committed to providing quality ESL instruction.
Work Schedule : Monday through Friday; as assigned, varies between 8:30 a.m. to 7:00
p.m.
ESL Instructor Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver training of instructional courses maintaining a high quality of service
Accomplish departmental metrics such as testing rate, retention, and attendance as
needed.
Ensure stated course objectives are met by the students.
Contact students who miss class.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods, i.e., lectures, lab demonstrations, and hands-on
workshops.
Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes and age groups;
Identify the individual requirements of the students and help them with the assignments
accordingly.
Assess the student’s knowledge by taking both oral as well as written tests from time to
time.
Providing appropriate feedback on oral and written work;
Basic administration, such as keeping student attendance records and entering student
grades.
Skills and Specifications
Potential candidates should:
Have complete knowledge about the various linguistic aspects of the English language
and good teaching skills.
Have good verbal as well as written communication skills.
Be confident and have good presence of mind.
ESL Instructor Education and Qualifications:
A minimum of one year experience teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
(TESOL certification preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree required, major in English or Teaching preferred.
Coursework for Teaching English as a Second Language.
Must be a native English speaker.
Must be computer literate.
Willingness to learn and use new methodologies.
Experience successfully using Computer-Based Training (CBT) materials in the
classroom.
Must possess the following:
- A passion for education -Experience in adult education. -Follow-up skills and a proven
track record of project completion -Ability to work in a fast paced or high-pressure
environment. -Past history of developing and maintaining constructive working
relationships with others over an extended period of time. -Excellent interpersonal skills -
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student and staff population.
