Ⅲ. Job Description
1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance

Details: Lorosa’e English Language Institute (LELI), Timor’s leading English language training
institute is currently recruiting for experienced CELTA qualified EFL teachers for a 12-
month contract to work on an intensive English language teaching program for the
Timorese military in 2016. The job involves teaching mostly 18 contact hours per week
(with provision to extend to 24 on a short-term emergency cover basis)as part of a small
team that includes a Senior Teacher and Program Manager. The teaching is conducted
off-site at a modern, purpose built training facility approximately 45 minutes’ drive outside
of the capital city, Dili.
In addition to teaching EFL, the role also includes mentoring and integrating Timorese
English teachers into the program. This will involve observing and being observed, so it
is vital that the teachers have an open attitude to having people sitting in on their classes
from time to time and be open to a range of teaching approaches. There is significant
scope for professional development as the teacher will also participate in syllabus and
materials design as part of an ongoing curriculum review. MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR
4TH JANUARY START DATE.
Successful applicants must be flexible, work well as part of a team remaining polite,
professional and patient even under sometimes difficult circumstances, and have the
ability to cope with the challenges associated with living and working in a developing
country. The standard of education and the methodology most students have been
exposed to in Timor-Leste means that some students have difficulty with modes of
abstract thinking and processing new information. Living in a hot, remote location where
power cuts are frequent and infrastructure issues are commonplace, requires teachers to
be highly motivated to come to Timor Leste and be able to maintain a positive attitude.
Qualifications & experience
As the client has specific qualification requirements, candidate MUST have a Bachelors
Degree, a a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate and minimum of 4 years’ teaching
experience to be considered. Other TEFL qualifications will not be accepted. DELTA or
MA TESOL desirable
