Keystone Educational Centre is looking for a pre-school and ESL teacher to join our
small but friendly and dynamic team and be an active element of this exciting start up
project that has just opened in September 2015 in the town of Tricase, province of Lecce,
Puglia (Italy). The Educational centre offers a daily full time (8am to 3pm) bilingual pre-
school service to families with kids from the age of 2 to 5 (Italian pre-school), plus
afternoon and evening English courses to young learners and adults.
Our centre aims at offering a very high standard of service and works in collaboration
with the Pedagogical Department of the University of Salento, with all our educational
activities and procedures being validated by our team member, a Professor of the
University of Salento and educational pedagogist, to guarantee that the best and latest
pedagogical methods are followed at the centre. Training and support will be provided,
nevertheless we require an exceptional teacher with a great passion for teaching and
learning, as well as a very outgoing and caring attitude, with passion and experience in
using TPR and TPRS as well as CBI methods for ESL teaching. Please consider that this
is a brand new project and it will be a breakthrough in the area, but it might take time to
develop and the beginning is slow. That is why we require a charismatic person who can
represent the centre at its best and draw enrolments with his/her highly professional and
warm personality. The right candidate will love being a very proactive part of a
developing project and he/she needs to be ready to do anything possible to make it work,
offering the highest quality of services to customer and maximum support and inputs to
the organizers. The position does not suit someone who is not flexible, adaptable and
willing to work at weekends when needed. It is also essential to have self organizational
skills, and ability to plan independently while working within a small team of people and
be equal part of that team in the everyday duties. Some knowledge of Italian would be a
benefit, but the right person who is sociable, creative, a lover of music, drama, dance,
sports and all sorts of creative arts and crafts will not find it difficult to fit in. The job
entails: working with a small group of preschool children, organizing and running daily fun
and educational workshops and activities; monitoring and evaluating children
development, organizing the curriculum following the centre methodology that is based
on International Early Years programs, Italian preschool standards and Reggio
Approach; liaise with the Italian teacher/s and assist everyone in their daily duties at the
centre, ability to include drama, storytelling, music and dance, musical instrument as well
as crafts and arts in the daily activities as well as academic teaching and ability to involve
the children in the second language acquisition through TPR and TRPS as well as CBI
content. You will also be required to teach English as a second language to elementary
school students, young learners and adults, preparing them for international
qualifications when requested. The total number of working hours per day will be 8, with
a day off a week + Sundays, but you might need to work some extra time when needed
to implement courses.
Qualifications
Native Level English speaker.
* Preschool teacher, Teaching degree, Bachelors or TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate.
* Experience with preschool and young learners (children’s Teachers).
* Experience with TRP; TRPS AND CBI methods as well as international exam
preparation.
* Clean Criminal Record.

Salary and Benefits
Basic salary and accommodation (no bills) is included. Salary review after 6 months
based on performance and centre growth.
