1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.

Details: Due to the increase of the number of students we are adding two classes in January
2018.
ISN (International School of Nagano) is an English-Japanese, bilingual preschool and
elementary school situated in Matsumoto City in Japan’s beautiful Nagano Prefecture,
serving families in Matsumoto and surrounding communities. With five, great capacity
classrooms plus a jungle-gym playroom in our Minami-Matsumoto Campus (preschool),
we have soon-to-be-opened a second campus in Shimauchi Campus (preschool and
elementary school) and in 2017 we are enrolling students from 2 years old, up to and
including Grade 4. ISN is an IB candidate school (July 2017).
We are a wonderfully diverse school, currently serving about 120 students with a vibrant
and dedicated faculty, devoted parents, and a committed Board of Education. ISN’s
teacher to student ratio is on average 1:15 and this exceptionally low ratio enables our
experienced teachers to readily conduct an IB based approach to the curriculum. The
main duty of the teacher is to lead their class with excitement and passion for a world
class education, while implementing an enquiry-based approach to instruction.
Candidates should have experience in collaborative leadership, high expectations for
faculty, staff, and all students, and be able to inspire the whole school.
Start day January 16, 2018 (5-day school training from January 9, 2018)

General duties of position: 8:00-16:00 The main tasks and duties of the teacher start at 8
am, by greeting children who are arriving at school, and ends at 4pm. Teachers should
arrive sufficiently early to begin teaching at the prescribed starting time, and allow time to
clean and tidy up the classroom before s/he leaves. The school may sometimes ask you
to take an early shift (7:30am start) to greet children who arrive early. We are open from
Monday to Friday. Children will learn about themselves, people and the world around
them in English through the activities we prepare and by spending almost all day here in
ISN. Teachers are responsible for submitting a weekly plan for each class before the
teachers meeting every Friday.
Main Duties:
●To effectively deliver the individual needs and interests of children in their learning
environment.
●To keep records of your children’s development and learning journeys and share with
parents.
●To support all staff and be an engaged team member.
●To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents to
facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
●To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual
children.
●To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, weekly/monthly staff
meetings, school events, etc
●To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other duties where
needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment,
support with potty training, diaper change etc.
●To work alongside the staff team to ensure that the setting’s philosophy is fulfilled.
●To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and
the safe running of the classroom.
●To develop your role within the team.
●To keep completely confidential any information regarding children, their families or
other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
●To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times,
both in work hours and outside.
●To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all
