Ⅲ. Job Description
1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance

Details: Mzuzu International Academy, is seeking to appoint an Early Years/Reception Teacher to join its
successful primary school team in September 2020.
The academy based in the north of Malawi, approximately 350km north of the capital Lilongwe,
caters for students aged 4 to 16 (Reception to Year 11) following the National Curriculum of
England leading to Cambridge IGCSE examinations. Mzuzu International Academy is a charity
foundation drawing from across Malawi and all backgrounds. Currently, approximately 25% of the
student body is drawn from disadvantaged backgrounds and are on scholarships supported by
charitable organisations.
Malawi is often referred to as the ‘warm heart of Africa’ and lives up to its reputation being a
peaceful and beautiful country to live in.
Responsibilities will include:
The organisation and running of the Reception programme, designing well-crafted lessons aligned
to the Learning Outcomes of the National Curriculum.
Collaborating with the Head of Primary in developing the school’s assessment programme.
Working with and mentoring locally hired colleagues.
A qualified candidate will have:
A degree in teaching from a recognised university.
Ideally some experience of working with early years students, not always native speakers of
English, in an international setting.
A passion to provide students with an ‘Education for a Global Future.’
The package includes:
An initial two-year contract.
Tax Free salary paid in US$
Rent free accommodation with basic furnishings
