THE POSITION
We are looking for an international teacher of English for our school campus in Dodoma, the Capital City of Tanzania.
1. To teach English Language and Literature to Pupils from Key Stage 2-4, with eventual Candidates for A/S and A level studies, inclusive of Check Point leadership and preparation relevant to the Subject areas.
2. To undertake the teaching of Information Communication Technology to Pupils in Key Stages 2.
3. To prepare academic work and to undertake General Pupil supervisory duties
4. To provide opportunities for Drama activities, including school performances as shall be agreed appropriately with the School’s Management.
5. To provide, in collaboration with other relevant colleagues, SEN support from KS2 and above.
6. To assist in the design and implementation of such curricular documentation, resources and teaching strategies as shall equip children and students to successfully undertake national and international public examination and develop Life Skills.
7. To adequately prepare for, keep records of and undertake teaching, both theoretical and practical in compliance with the agreed Departmental timetable.
8. To assist in the implementation of agreed extra-curricular activities as shall be agreed between the Department and the Head of Institution’s Office.
9. To assist in the continuous assessment of student academic progress and to prepare reports upon the same, as and when required.
10. To prepare, supervise and mark such examinations as shall be pertinent to the Courses being undertaken by the students.
11. To liaise with colleagues in other departments as and when necessary, to ensure high calibre theoretical and practical academic course experiences.
12. To prepare reports for and to attend such academic departmental and/or other relevant meetings as the Employee shall be called upon to attend.
13. To attend educational seminars, sessions of professional development and other events external to the Institution, as a representative of One Planet School Dodoma, as shall be deemed appropriate.
QUALIFICATION
- At least Bachelor Degree of Education, specialized in English
- At least 8 years of teaching experience
- At least 3 years of international teaching experience
- Trained and experienced in delivering Cambridge International Education’s curriculum.
- Ability to teach other subjects such as Art, Music will be an asset.
