- AP/A-level Biology Teacher

Ⅲ. Job Description
1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: RMB 28,000 - 40,000 plus housing allowance
2. Paid winter and summer vacations

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Buddy, your role is to be a mentor, guide, friend and role model through regular video calls with students who are studying to pass the IELTS examination in their home country.
Buddies conduct 30-minute 1-to1 sessions with students who make initial contact with you. Students are mainly in China and the rest of East Asia.
We are keen to stress that being a Buddy with PowwowVIP is not actual teaching. You do not have to mark homework, set tasks, engage in administration duties or lesson planning. You are there to be a friend and speaking partner so they receive that vital practice time. Working as a Buddy is therefore low-stress work and it’s up to you and your students how many sessions you conduct as well as when you schedule them.
We provide all the training you need. All we ask is that you are passionate about your work, do your best to engage with students, be a positive role model and be reliable.
As a Buddy, you are there to inspire and answer questions about anything the student wants to talk about: your life, your studies, life in your country. Your role is to help them practice English in a totally natural and real-life context and to help them better understand college life abroad.
You get to set your own schedule. However, in order to maximize the number of sessions you conduct, we encourage Buddies to be available at times that are most convenient for Asian students. For example, Buddies in the US often conduct sessions before 8am.
You’re also working in some capacity as a salesperson. That means that you are responsible for how much work you get. Each session you do represents a unit of pay and it’s your job to maximize your income by conducting sessions in the most enthusiastic and conducive way. Our trainers provide plenty of tips on how to achieve this.
REMUNERATION
PowwowVIP pay our Buddies an hourly rate of $14.
