1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;

1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;

Media, Design and Technology Educator
(Bangladesh, Dhaka)

Details: One of the oldest, largest and most respected private schools in Bangladesh, Scholastica, is looking for an experienced educator with a background in design technology and/or STEM who is passionate and ready for challenges. They will set up a makerspace/STEM lab for the school and develop a STEM/design and technology curriculum for the primary and middle school levels.
The Media, Design and Technology educator will play the role of a project lead to develop curriculum focusing on STEM, design, technology, digital media, media literacy, and programming/robotics. They will work closely with science and computing teachers to develop their skills to teach the curriculum to primary and middle school students. They will also work closely with the head of school and administrative team to set up a classroom that will be used as a STEM lab and makerspace. We seek candidates who will not only contribute in the development of the project but whose commitment, experience and skill will enrich the skills of our own faculty to ensure sustainability of the subject in the future. An important point to note is that there is no fixed curriculum for this subject in school, so the person who develops the curriculum will have the flexibility to conduct research, draw from several curriculums and design something that is original and appropriate. There are no specific requirements or mandates that need to be followed, allowing for a great deal of freedom for the curriculum developer.
This will be a full-time job of 2 years with opportunities for growth and further expansion beyond the initial 2 years. The position will be reporting to the Managing Director of the organization and working closely with the senior leadership.
Scholastica is a private English-medium school, offering pre-school to A’ Level classes of an international standard. It offers a complete school-leaving course using English as the medium of instruction. We teach to the O’ and A’ Levels under Cambridge Assessment International Examination. We have five campuses in Dhaka, the capital city, with two of them being the larger middle and high schools. This position would require working with the two larger campuses to establish STEM labs in both, and developing curriculum that can be implemented by teachers in both campuses. Job Responsibilities:
• Designing, developing and implementing innovative student focused curriculum on design and technology, digital media and programming, and STEM
• Develop, model, implement and assess high quality learning engagements
• Help to design a classroom to teach Design, Technology and Media including setting up all the required equipment and resources
• Developing training programs for teachers to implement the curriculum and use the technology and resources correctly
• Help to train lab assistants who can maintain and upgrade the classroom from time to time in the future
