Details: We are looking for a full-time EFL teacher to join our British run language school in North
Puglia, Italy. Full-time contract (25 hours per week)November 2010 to June 2011 with
possible renewal.
School Description:
We are a small, friendly, professional school with an excellent local reputation and a high
student return rate. We offer quality language teaching to students of all ages (children,
teens and adults) and levels, in small groups or 1:1. There is a percentage of out of
school teaching (state schools and companies) but the majority of teaching time is spent
on premises.
The school is in a newly renovated building in the centre of the town with bright
classrooms, self-access centre, well stocked resource library, and modern classrooms.
Job Description:
Full time EFL teacher – 25 contact hours per week teaching General English and
Cambridge/Trinity exam preparation to small groups of children, teens and adults.
Support:
Help in settling in (reasonably priced accommodation provided in bright, modern
apartment), full induction including teacher training, and regular staff meetings. DoS on
hand for teaching advice, support and help in developing teaching ideas. At present there
are four teachers working at our school.
Location:
Our school is in Torremaggiore (FG) which is a safe, friendly market town in the far north
of Puglia. Offers beautiful scenery and only 15 mins from Adriatic coast. It’s a very
traditional Italian town (population 18 000) and just off the usual Italian tourist trail, but
well connected to both the North and South of Italy, offering the chance to explore all the
other fascinating areas which Italy has to offer.
Frequent bus services to surrounding area and nearest city, Foggia.
10 mins to train and bus station with main links to Rome and North/South Italy.
Teacher Profile:
Enthusiastic, flexible, creative with good organisational and inter-personal skills. Good
team worker and genuinely interested and dedicated to helping language learners get the
most out of lessons, especially Young Learners.
Qualifications
UK national or EU passport holder (Due to the nature of our employment contracts under
Italian law we can only accept applications from EU passport holders)
Native Speaker
Degree
CELTA or Trinity TESOL or equivalent
Enthusiastic, flexible and professional approach.
A clean driving licence and some knowledge of Italian an advantage, but not essential.
We are looking for a teacher with experience in teaching, however newly-qualified
teachers with a good pass at either CELTA or Trinity TESOL (or equivalent) are also very
welcome to apply.
